Hotel management and Catering Science

Imparting the art of hospitality And the Science of it.

The Department of catering science was established to tap the potential growth prospects in the hospitality industry. Affiliated to Periyar University, the undergraduate programmes strives to enable students to get an in-depth insight into real world challenges and opportunities in the hospitality industry.

Students are trained in five core subjects pertaining to the areas of food service and hotel management. Over a period of three years, Students are exposed to intense training programmes at star hotel in various part of the country.

Facilities include five different laboratories devoted to each discipline of Catering Science. The department also places adequate emphasis on food processing and production.

A modern bakery and confectionary unit provides ample training ground for student to get trained process and produces. The student also gains ample exposure to a variety of hospitality related activities including the front office, housekeeping and hotel engineering.
